Providence Health- Downtown is looking for an experienced Med Tech II to join our team.

Essential Functions

* Performs established procedures for testing specimens for all age groups serviced
* Performs and documents quality control procedures; evaluates results and implements corrective action when indicated.
* Assists other department personnel and performs technical duties as required.
* Uses judgment in reporting laboratory data for all age groups serviced.
* Performs and documents daily, monthly, and as needed preventive maintenance.
* Processes and/or assists with processing samples for testing including use of currently available laboratory computer programs.
* Participates in training new employees and students.
* Troubleshoots equipment/instruments when malfunctioning and takes appropriate action(s).

Job Requirements

Minimum Work Experience

Completion of a MT / MLT program with clinical rotations. One to three years as a generalist or as a specialist in specific area.

Minimum Education

* Bachelors degree plus successful completion of a technologist level exam given by ASCP. -or
* Bachelors degree plus successful completion of a medical technology program and is eligible to sit for a technologist level exam given by ASCP. or
* Associate degree in clinical laboratory sciences from an accredited college or equivalent.
* Successful completion of or eligible to sit for a technician level exam given by a national certifying agency.
