Brief Position Description:



The Quality Engineer will work across the enterprise to enable the APT Silicones businesses to profitably meet customer and product quality regulatory requirements.



Provide technical direction and quality related support to the business for the implementation and effective use of the manufacturing sites quality system. Champion cross-functional knowledge and accountability for product quality. Promote a customer focused quality culture. This role will work with manufacturing, supply chain, laboratory, business and quality personnel to advance work processes that increase internal/ external focus to meet customer's current and future requirements.



Primary Responsibilities:



The job scope includes the following customer/ manufacturing facing technical and quality related activities:




* Establish APT's quality strategy for Dow-sourced products within the new relationship between Dow/DuPont, working with both APT and others in E&I Quality.

* Ensure the corrective and preventative action systems are linked between companies and used to satisfy customers and promote improvements

* Leads the organizational response to customers for critical quality issues. Interact as needed with customers, both proactively and reactively, to demonstrate quality commitment

* Manage and answer customer quality and technical requests

* Respond to requests for COA's

* Manage all elements of Customer Complaints which include:


* Drafting and issuing Supplier Corrective Action Requests

* Ensuring that Return Material Authorizations are provided.

* Initial product containment where warranted.

* Ensuring that investigations are conducted, through and complete.

* Review Root Cause identification efforts and corrective action

* Communication with the customer thru out the process.

* Respond and collaborate with manufacturing, legal and quality for customer requested Quality Agreements/ Surveys

* Understand, review, audit and confirm QC Methods (tests and frequencies) and results.

* Ensure that a Management of Change protocol is upheld and followed.

* Conduct routine audits of manufacturing (including coordination of customer audits)

Job Qualification

Preferred Qualifications




* Bachelors (or higher) degree in Engineering/Technical discipline and 5 years (min.) of relevant experience

* Applied knowledge and experience working with Quality Management System requirements such ISO9001, IATF16949, AS9100, or ISO17025

* Practical quality system auditing experience

* Demonstrated strong networking, interpersonal skills and professionalism to deal with all levels of management, personnel, customers and business representatives

* Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks and objectives as well as take on additional tasks to meet business needs; must be able to manage a diverse workload, perceive needs of others, remain adaptable

* Effective planning, organizing and priority-setting skills

* Must possess strong analytical thinking skills and use formal problem-solving techniques and data analysis to determine root cause and reach solutions.

* Must be able to work independently and represent DuPont externally.

* Experience interfacing with Customer on quality and/or technical issues

* Strong computer skills including experience with SAP, EtQ, and SFDC
