What you will do
* The Director, Estimating and Contractor Management has the primary responsibility for defining, planning, tracking and managing the estimating team, estimating process, installation price book, technical SME team and also managing contractor engagement, job level rates and projects they as assigned. The Estimating and Project Technical Subject Matter Experts organization is focused on external clients/customers and projects. This organization is both a technical and an Installation cost-based organization and it is focused on design solutions of hardware and services as well as creating cost models for all solutions. The Director is responsible for identifying key resources and providing the direction required for meeting the teams objectives.
* He/she is also responsible for ensuring appropriate management and supplier involvement throughout the life of the project. Possess the ability to lead and motivate people and encourage teamwork, an ability to communicate effectively with senior management, and a clear vision of what determines a successful solution for the customer and for the company. In addition, the Director, must have a sufficient technical background to understand the technologies, technical issues, and installation variations involved with the product, to be able to anticipate and identify and resolve potential obstacles, and to make accurate technology decisions. The Director, also must be able to manage to project schedules and task details and utilize project management tools such as reports, tracking charts and checklists to delegate appropriately. He/she must be able to manage change and take active leadership in timely decision making. How you will do it
* This position is responsible for establishing the Estimating, Contactor management and Technical SME organizations as a center of excellence.
* Define the estimating management process, standards, deliverables, price book, and operational cadence necessary to ensure consistent execution and cost management.
* Oversee job cost Estimates, to ensure targeted utilization is achieved, while monitoring
* overall profitability.
* Manage job level contractor rate cards
* Manage and balance Estimators and Tech SMEs workload and assignments.
* Work closely with the Customer and Sales organization to resolve issues with
* a continuous focus on maximizing sales productivity. (I dont understand what this means)
* Ensure development of all Estimators, contractor coordinators and Tech SMEs including appropriate certifications and training as part of a comprehensive development plan.
* Ensure that all team members understand their roles and accept their responsibilities
* Regularly track progress on all costs, estimates and provide up-dates to executives regularly.
* Work with Estimators to analyze actual performance against our costs and plan and make adjustments consistent with objectives. Provide on-going developmental feedback to Estimators and Tech SMEs as appropriate.
* Ensure Estimators and Tech SMEs keep all stakeholders informed of progress and issues.
* Manage estimating as well as technical scope and deliverables through a structured management process to ensure customer expectations are met, while protecting Sensormatic revenue objectives.
* Report on Installation financials including margins, contractor costs by project, District and Region.
