Job Description

What you will do
Inspectors are responsible for conducting routine inspections, testing, service, and preventative maintenance.

How you will do it

* Work with low voltage wiring and associated devices for the operation of low voltage equipment
* Complete Service Acknowledgements with proper coding through communication devices such as laptop computers and/or hard copy
* Follow and maintain a highly structured inspection schedule. Input, retrieve and archive inspection documents via laptop computer
* Complete assigned inspections on time
* Reports to be forwarded to the appropriate parties in a timely manner
* Quote repairs on site if applicable, via electronic device
* Interacts with customer prior to, during and after completion of the inspection process
* May train or assist less experienced/newer employees in job processes
* Acts as our customers best service provider at all times thereby ensuring Johnson Controls is the customers first choice for service
* Ensures proper testing equipment and materials are onsite at the time of inspection
* Develop exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of, and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted

What we look for

Required:

* 5+ years documented experience in low voltage electrical systems and Fire and /or Life Safety Systems experience
* Demonstrates an aptitude for troubleshooting systems
* Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
* Good verbal, written, and electronic communication skills are a must
* Writing and reading skills
* Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs
* Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult position such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc
* Ability to work flexible hours including weekends to meet customer requirements
* Ability to work well with others
* Self-starter that can work with supervision
* All employees are required to attend scheduled safety meetings
* All employees are required to adhere to attend ALL safety rules and processes
* High School Diploma or equivalent
* The position requires Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) use such as clear safety glasses, goggles, hard hat, bump cap, and sleeves. This PPE will be supplied by Johnson Controls. Corrective lens safety glasses and steel toe boots will be the responsibility of the employee (some reimbursement may be made by Johnson Controls).
* Possess a valid drivers license and driving record that meets company requirements
