Purpose of the Position:
* Corning is seeking a creative website leader that can work across Cornings internal teams to lead best practices required to drive measured improvements in reach and engagement with Cornings web platform content. The candidate will propose, develop and implement user experience and content presentation improvements to generate engaging web experiences for Cornings target audiences. The ideal candidate for this position is a hands-on professional with a proven track record of creative front-end development in HTML 5, CSS and JavaScript.
Strategic Leadership Responsibilities:
* Design and implement website management best practices to optimize Cornings website information architecture, website pathing and navigation, and ensure optimization of published content and assets.
* Lead hands-on front-end development for incremental website experience improvements and collaborate across internal and external agency teams to plan and execute. Ensure solutions are seamlessly integrated across Cornings businesses and engage with Corning IT as required to implement platform improvements, publishing and management process improvements, and new capabilities.
* Maintain and optimize user journeys for corporate audiences and partner with line of business to enhance conversions to business content for prospective and existing customers. Partner with corporate staff group sponsors to ensure website content is optimized, and conversions are designed, measured and reported.
* Ensure integration of analytics instrumentation into website experiences, lead website content tuning and search platform configuration for improvements in on-site search relevancy and ensure platform best practices for presenting content to external search engines (SEO).
* Participate in Cornings Digital Governance forum to collaborate and govern platform capability investments to balance business needs and investments to benefit the enterprise. Enable business control and growth of new platform capabilities to expand business enablement and self-service over marketing and communications functions on Cornings owned platforms.
* Participate in the creation of business cases for platform transformations, lead agency and IT engagement, and drive the incremental enhancements pipeline. Stay current with and display knowledge of market trends and best practices.
* Ensure direct reports are fully engaged in delivering assignments and in continual skills building through hands-on delivery, self-study and formal training. Influence internal team members for adoption of best practices.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
* Surface insights to enable data-driven decisions on platform, content and experience improvements. Ongoing analysis of website analytics data and external benchmarking to surface insights on reach and engagement of Cornings web content with target audiences.
* Collaborate with the Corporate Communications content, analytics and design leaders to guide user experience, information architecture, navigation and page content layout in support of communications needs expressed on Cornings web platforms. Translate communications and business needs and capabilities into an effective information architecture that resonates with customers, aligns with their expectations, and helps them to achieve their goals.
* Lead the definition and implementation of best practices for analyzing and proposing improvements to content published on Cornings owned platforms, including; heat map analysis, user journey analysis, information architecture optimization, page layouts and call-to-action placement.
* Develop, test and implement incremental content and experience improvements on Cornings core WCMS platform(s). Identify opportunities to advance core platform experience capabilities to support emerging UX and UI trends not yet available in Cornings code base. Ensure that off-platform custom development is intentionally managed by exception and seamlessly integrated to avoid disjointed brand and experience.
* Lead the definition and implementation of best practices for the publishing and maintenance of content and assets on Cornings web platforms. Corning Subject Matter Expert for Cornings Adobe Experience manager implementation including content and asset publishing, translation and freshness, web page template and components, and overall global website architecture.
* Collaborate with the Design team to manage Cornings style guides, publishing guides, design systems, wireframes and design assets and ensure platform content and experiences adheres to Cornings brand guidelines.
* Collaborate with system integrators to ensure proposed designs are technically feasible and then properly executed as optimizing the visual experience and ensure that user and business considerations are met.
* Stay current with and display knowledge of market trends and best practices for user experience and front-end UI development technologies for responsive design.
* Research emerging trends and proactively assess technical feasibility and educate Corning stakeholders on adoption and value proposition.
* Leverage direct reports to deliver and ensure work assignments drive increased expertise and speed of delivery within the function.

* Cross-browser testing, and Developing for Adobe Experience Manager WCMS
* Development of engaging experiences involving Motion, Video, 3D depth
* Experience with interactive content development and authoring/production tools

Qualifications:
* 7+ years leading the development of web programs and user experience improvements
* Bachelors degree required. Focus on user experience, web design and development, and/or Human Computer Interaction preferred
* Training in User Centered Design processes
* Web Development Certifications desired
* Proven experience leading initiatives across integrated communications teams involving communications and marketing leaders, content producers, design teams, and analytics leaders
