With focus on commercial/ cash management propositions, support and drive a customer-oriented, unified payments vision for the bank owning the strategy process for Citizens as it relates to payments and customer behavior/demand across a variety of B2B, B2C, C2B use cases. The role will have a focus on use-cases leveraging new and innovative technologies including but not limited to RTP, Network-of-networks, wallets and Zelle. This will include evaluation of the treasury solutions/ payments landscape, disruptors and industry consolidation and our approach to each. This leader will need to work across the organization in close partnership with Cash management product teams, technology and strategy functions; externally with Fintechs and platform / capability vendors.

This person will partner to analyze the market, identify client needs and use cases that could be supported by emerging payment capabilities, analyze the business cases behind these opportunities and help the bank prioritize the many potential investments and projects in this space and recommend product development and pilot activities to promote the banks commercial offerings.

Responsibilities:

* Help develop the banks strategy for payments with an emphasis and focus on commercial/ cash management solutions leveraging RTP and other forms of emerging payments including assessing market opportunity, competitive offerings, customer needs, ROI, and the ability for the bank to differentiate itself and be seen by the market as an innovator across all relevant lines of business.

* Work with product, business leaders, or other sources to identify and define client needs and emerging trends.

* Manage the development and maintenance of competitive analysis and market research for competitive offerings.

* Conduct research on product enhancements and new product offerings. Initiate product development cycle for agreed upon development initiatives.

* Keep abreast of technology and business changes and ensure appropriate steps are taken to meet requirements. Work closely with association relationship management to leverage relationships for Citizens and our clients

* Serve as subject matter expert to other support areas of the business including Product, Sales/Relationship Management, Marketing, Training, and Operations. Provide subject matter expertise on industry trends.

* Build a small team of up to two colleagues in 2021 to kick-start this transformation effort, and position the team for up for future growth.

Qualifications

RequiredQualifications

* 7 or more years of relevant payments experience in treasury/ cash management products and solutions. The experience could be in traditional bank or Fintechs.

* The ideal person will have an understanding of the B2B, B2C and C2B payments environment and the initiatives and innovations that are shaping the commercial payments landscape

* Some of who has a strong view of the evolving market landscape in commercial payments space and an innovation/ business development mindset.

* Should be able to analyze market opportunities for differentiation, develop use cases to present cogent recommendations.

* experience leading strategic initiatives with multiple stakeholders with a financial services environment.

* Strong client-centric view to product design.

* Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to story tell.

* A transformation mindset and ability to operate and excel with some level of ambiguity / white space.

* While strategic, this person should be able to not loose sight of the objective of delivering client value in the form of new products or customer experiences and drive business value.

Desired Qualifications

* Direct experience in driving innovation in payments

* Real time payments, blockchain with commercial use-cases

* Experience in technology/ product platforms that support cash management (Integrated Payables, receivables)

Education and Certifications

* Bachelor's degree in business or a related technical field preferred.
