Overview:

Do you love uncovering attack vectors, threat hunting, finding security holes, and have a passion to protect the enterprise from attack including from APT? Windstream is seeking a Security Specialist to support our growing security practice focusing on penetration testing and vulnerability management. The Security Specialist will search for malicious activity across the enterprise, analyze data from a variety of security tools and sources, as well as recommend countermeasures for network defenders. The Security Specialist will assist with incident response, forensics tools, malware, and reverse engineering. Successful candidates will have hands on experience with security monitoring, forensics, and incident response.

Job functions:

* Research, develop, update, and document security monitoring methodologies and procedures
* Conduct security reviews perform risk analysis, review IDS alerts, suspicious emails, network logs, and any other resource that provide insight into an entitys network activity.
* Participate in security incident response and forensic investigations including analysis of identified malware
* Search for malicious activity across the enterprise, analyze data from a variety of security tools and sources
* Analysts are expected to have basic knowledge in areas like networking, malware analysis, incident response, and cyber etiquette.
* Research, recommend and deploy security products and tools
* Work off hours to support project schedules or incident response
Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

College degree in a Technical or related field and 3-5 years professional level experience with 0-1 year supervisory experience for roles with supervision; or 7 years professional level related Technical experience with 0-1 year supervisory experience for roles with supervision; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related Technical experience required.
