Southern Industrial is looking for Insulators for a project in Wilmington, NC. This is a 40 hour per week, local only position, no travel or per diem.

Covers boilers, pipes, tanks and refrigeration units with insulating materials such as fiberglass, plastic and magnesia to reduce loss or absorption of heat, prevent moisture condensation and to deaden sound.

Essential Functions / Duties:

Apply, remove and repair insulation on industrial equipment, pipes, duct work or other mechanical systems such as heat exchangers, tanks, and vessels, to help control noise and maintain temperature.

* Cover, seal or finish insulated surfaces or access holes with plastic covers, canvas strips, sealants, tape, cement or asphalt mastic.
* Remove old insulation and dispose of it properly.
* Measure and cut all types of insulation to fit pipes, 45's and 90's, vessels, duct work, pump boxes, etc.
* Cover insulation with appropriate jacketing to include fabrication of oversize's, reducers, T's, etc.
* Measure and cut insulation for covering surfaces, using tape measures, handsaws, knives and scissors.
* Works in multi-craft atmosphere with scaffold builders.
* Read job packages and other specifications to determine job requirements.
* Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements:

* Will be required to work from heights and confined spaces.
* 3-5 years of previous insulation experience
