This position is part of Advanced Safety & User Experience and is located in Troy, Michigan.

Summary

The position is seeking a Global Product Line Sales Manager Safety and Autonomous Driving. The successful candidate will possess proven world-class experience in managing global sales teams through high growth periods. The candidate will be recognized for designing and developing organizational capability and talent depth in support of growth. A strong focus on customer satisfaction, sense of urgency and bias for action are unwavering requirements for this role. Ideal candidate will bring to the organization commercial excellence, market intelligence and best in class focus on building and maintaining customer relationships.

Responsibilities and Duties:

* Managing all product line account activities to support existing business and develop and execute a strategy to capture future global business potential in NA, EU and AP
* High level interface with Product Line MDs globally
* Selling the Safety and Autonomous Driving products to one or more of the major OEM's.
* Win profitable new business: targeting, project summary, negotiation for Active Safety and User Experience
* Manage pre-launch profitability: maintain oversight of BOM and design costs; manage customer pricing on changes / deviations to original quote; manage customer pricing proactively request Aptiv wider organization involvement to address issues
* Manage ongoing product profitability: budget, negotiate & manage customer price management profitability; request organization to create long-term cost rout maps; address leakers and bleeders
* Customer coordination & management: coordinate technology showcases; coordinate terms & strategic initiatives, manage the network linking the customer team
* Establish proactive communication and relationship with customer to promote confidence and trust
* Create and maintain customer response mechanisms which in the event of issues arising complement local and/or single Product Line processes
* Ensure Aptiv maximizes its content per vehicle by supporting robust multi-product battle plans;
* Ensure customer demands are managed through the appropriate Aptiv processes such that all responses are made within and consistent with Aptiv commercial policy
* Create and drive deployment of strategic plan for customer through the operation of customer team and interaction with all relevant Aptiv functions. Regularly report on progress to strategic goals and act to correct deviation/shortfall
* Organize and coordinate senior Aptiv executives on customer visits as required
* Is accountable for customer profitability and revenue growth in the product line

Need to Haves (Basic Qualifications)

* 5+ years experience in Sales/Product sales within Automotive Industry
* Bachelors Degree

Nice to Haves (Preferred Qualifications)

* Proven specific customer expertise & product expertise in AS and/or UX is a key requirement
* Identify business development opportunities for Active Safety and User Experience products
* Extensive experience in leading a global sales team in manufacturing or technology industry
* Track record in managing complex commercial discussions (auctions, disputes etc..)
* Track record in establishing global customer strategies and increasing revenue/growth
* Proven experience in building sales team capabilities
