POSITION SUMMARY:

Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patients served in his/her department. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span, possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patients requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and provides care needed as described in the departmental policies and procedures.

Provides health care services applying sonic energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Performs Ultrasonic imaging and related procedures in the following area: OB/GYN, Abdomen, Neurosonology, Peripheral Vascular, and Echocardiograph. Demonstrates anatomy for interpretation by or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Exercises professional judgement in performance of services and maintains a demeanor that reflects a high standard of medical ethics. Recognizes conditions essential for the successful completion of procedures. Provides appropriate health care services to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

* High school diploma or equivalent.

* Satisfactory completion of formal radiologic training in an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology or approved school of Ultrasound. OR

* Has received training and/or experience in the field of Ultrasound Imaging as judged adequate by Radiology Medical Staff and Department manager

EXPERIENCE:

* Demonstrates the ability of a conscientious and responsible individual that is pertinent to the sophistication of the job

LICENSURE:

* Registered or registry eligible for no more than twelve (12) months in on (1) of the following:

* A.R.R.T or A.R.D.M.S.

* Current CPR certificate in Basic Life Support (BLS)
