Position Summary:

The operating room technologist is a non-licensed skilled and experienced person who is responsible under the direct supervision of a registered nurse for selected tasks in the administration of patient care within the operating room suite. Assists with surgical procedures in scrub duties. Assists in the orientation, training, and education of new personnel. Assists in maintaining safe and aseptic environment for all patients. Performs all related duties as assigned and directed. Facilitates the provision of individualized patient care. Reports to Registered Nurse on each case and the OR

Clinical Manager and the Director of Surgery. This is a non-exempt position.

Reports To: Manager Surgical Services

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

Licensure/ Certification/Registration:

* Surgical Technologist Certification required.
* Current BCLS certification.

Education:

* Completion of Surgical Technologist course required.

Experience:

* One-year experience as a Surgical Technologist in an acute care facility required.
* Three years additional training or experience in multiple specialties preferred.
