What you will do:

The Supervisor, IT Support provides administrative leadership and support for the daily and ongoing operational activities of a team of IT Support Specialists. These activities are primarily focused on ensuring the IT equipment, hardware, and software are updated to meet organizational needs and security standards, as well as implementing IT policies, procedures, and best practices for the entire organization.

Your responsibilities:

* Accountable for the supervision of assigned staff including recruiting and performance management. Trains team members, ensuring they are familiar with various functions, duties, documentation and personnel to maximize productivity and ensure high quality service to end users. Provides mentoring, career development, and teambuilding to maximize productivity and foster positive employee relationships.

* Prioritizes, assigns, and manages Division IT activities and projects in accordance with the organization's goals and objectives. Adjusts hours of work, priorities and staff assignments to ensure efficient operation, based on workload.

* Hands-on oversight of technical support functions for the Division's end users for all PC, hardware, software and IT infrastructure related issues; including activities relating to systems administration, computer installation, computer upgrades, patch management, security administration, user administration, monitoring, system tuning, troubleshooting, capacity planning, printer (shared & personal) administration, asset tracking (servers, storage, PCs, printers, etc), vendor management, data backup and restore, and disaster recovery.

* Develops and maintains effective working relationships with Division and Region senior management teams.

* Ensures Division IT (level II/level III support) staff interact effectively with the Airgas Central Help Desk (level I) providing professional and effective IT support to Division personnel

* Interacts with the Airgas IT Security team to execute IT security projects and implement IT security best practices

* Ensures technical documentation, diagrams and standard operating procedures are created and maintained by the Division IT staff.

* Manages vendor relationships and Division IT related service contracts, as appropriate.

* Establishes service levels for internal customers and monitor service delivery to ensure the agreed upon targets and standards are met.

* Continues personal development and education to remain informed of current industry development and technologies.

* Perform other duties as may be assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each job duty satisfactorily. * Bachelor degree required in Computer Science or related IT field. (In lieu of degree requirement, may consider an equivalent combination of education and experience.

* 3 years of staffing and IT project management experience in an IT leadership role to include experience with Windows OS, Active Directory, MS Office, Anti-Virus software and MS SharePoint.

* 5 years of experience as a PC technician in a Microsoft operating system environment.

* Demonstrated leadership skills

* Excellent oral and written communication skills.

* Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines, both independently and collectively.

* Exceptional organization, time management, customer service, project estimating and problem solving skills.

* Must be able to work in a smoke-free and drug-free workplace.

* Must be willing to commit to a nominal level of travel.

* Broad technical knowledge of Domain Name Systems (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Windows Internet Naming Service (WINS), TCPIP (Transmission Control Protocol), with a basic understanding of Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technologies.

* Requires frequent use of a computer and telephone.

* Occasionally may be required to move up to 100 pounds or more with the aid of material handling equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

* The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and work is generally performed in a standard office environment.

* This position requires the carrying of a cell phone and managing escalation of after-hours support issues.

* Occasional overnight travel may be required.
