With world class technical expertise, leading edge technology and innovative project delivery capability around the world, AECOMs global environmental practice helps industry and government meet their business goals to achieve compliance, reduce or eliminate risks and manage impacts. We provide advisory and technical services to help clients cleanup and close contaminated sites and surplus operational facilities and restore them for reuse, plan and permit new facilities, address critical climate change issues, restore habitats and water quality, protect natural and cultural resources, maintain compliance, and cost effectively manage residuals and wastes.
Responsibilities:
* Documentation and tracking of all onsite subcontractor activity and equipment to ensure proper billing
* Enforcement of all Shell and AECOM health and safety policies and procedures while subcontractors execute their scopes of work at the project site; reviews JSAs/THAs
* Issue permits to subcontractors in compliance with the Shell Global Permit to Work (PTW) requirements
* Review plans and ensures subcontractor adherence; notes deviations from plan
* Documentation of positive interventions, unsafe acts and unsafe conditions
* Conducts soil sampling, groundwater sampling, and oversees subsurface investigations and well installation activities
* Conducts vapor intrusion sampling
* Supports data evaluation and reporting
Minimum Requirements
* Bachelor's Degree in Geology plus 2+ years of experience
* Must possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record
* Pass a State and Federal criminal history/security background check; many projects/ clients are security sensitive.
* Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
* Physically able, with or without an accommodation, to work in indoor and outdoor environments with uneven terrain. Variable environmental conditions include heat, dusts, noise, and chemicals. This position requires frequent (more than 50% of the workday) standing/walking, and keyboard/mouse operations; often (25-50% of the workday) operating vehicles, and working in an environment of heavy, moving, dangerous equipment; occasionally (10-25% of the workday) working with arms above shoulder level, performing repetitive bending/stooping, power gripping/squeezing (hand tools, levers, etc.), climbing stairs, performing repetitive or fine hand movements, and lifting <25-50 pounds; rarely (less than 10% of the workday) working at heights, using portable ladders, working in confined spaces, and lifting 50-75 pounds. Position will include conducting field work and wearing associated personal protective equipment, including but not limited to gloves, safety glasses/goggles, safety shoes/boots, hard hat, and hearing protection.
* Note for posting: OSHA 10 or 30 Hour Construction Outreach Training and current OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER Training/Refresher is preferred. Successful candidate must be able to successfully pass physical examinations as required by the OSHA HAZWOPER Standard.
