Department Overview
The Customer Care Risk, Compliance and Privacy team delivers a broad range of expertise to drive integrated, cross-organizational solutions to effectively manage risk and compliance for Customer Care and PG&E. By providing strategic counsel and program governance, the team helps the organization balance risk, compliance, regulation, operations, and customer experience.
The Privacy team manages an enterprise program to deliver expertise and guidance to all lines of business to support their effective management of that safeguards personal information that customers entrust to PG&E customers' private information and data. We aspire to build an industry-leading utility privacy program
Position Summary
The Privacy team is responsible for supporting PG&E privacy policy and complying with Federal, State, CPUC and California privacy laws. The privacy profession is a growing field as global, federal and state laws are changing at a rapid pace. We are looking for an intern to help us the current CCPA legislation and new requirements of CPRA, which will be effective in January of 2023. This is an exciting opportunity to learn about new legislation that will impact all California Consumers.
Privacy is looking for talented summer intern to help support the privacy team with documentation, organization and prioritization of privacy initiatives.
* Transfer documentation from current system to new software solution
* Update Company Intranet site with Privacy Tips.
* Developing data governance process for electronic storage of data
The successful intern will have the opportunity to lead and/or support activities as described above working with a team of experienced Privacy Experts. Additionally, the intern will gain knowledge privacy rules.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
* Earning a Bachelor's degree
Desired:
* 3.0 GPA or greater in both cumulative GPA and major GPA
* Ability to work in a team environment and support fellow team members
* Strong problem solving and analytical skills
* Strong communication skills, both oral and written
* Takes initiative and can work independently with minimal direction
