D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for an Assistant Purchasing Manager for their Purchasing Department. The right candidate will assist the Purchasing Manager in obtaining and maintaining best qualified and best-priced products and labor contracts to build homes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Assist in the management of all aspects of purchasing for the division
* Create budgets for upcoming projects
* Manage costs of existing projects
* Bid architectural plans to subcontractors and vendors
* Obtain quality work at a competitive price
* Purchasing of material
* Hiring of contractors, suppliers and laborers
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly manages 2 or more employees in the Purchasing Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization%27s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor%27s degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
