Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Individual must be capable of performing all of the following job duties as required:

* Must be a team player, motivated and able to communicate well with others.
* Must be able to work with limited or no supervision while observing all company policies, rules, GMPs, SQF policies, and safety policies.
* Must monitor entire central batter system to ensure smooth transition of ingredients out to ingredient hoppers in processing area, perform critical food safety checks, and monitor batter temperatures.
* Must have good mathematical skills and demonstrate competence using computer systems and software.
* Coordinate and manage production schedule with supervisors, leads, planners, and teammates for changeover preparations, start up, shut down, and set up.
* Hook up and unload flour and oil trucks.
* Manually dump bags of minor ingredients at bag dump station to be transferred to minor ingredient hoppers.
* Make spice blend batches and transfer to designated bins.
* Responsible for notifying QA department to inspect incoming ingredients.
* Complete all paperwork associated with area (batch sheets, QA checks, production data, lot numbers, etc).
* Maintain an accurate inventory of ingredients each shift.
* Ability to perform all cleaning and sanitizing functions in area and willingness to work weekends and downtime to perform preventative maintenance, CIP, and master sanitation schedules.
* Must be able to retain knowledge of SOP, CIP, and safe usage of chemicals.
* Strong mechanical background required. Must be able to perform minor maintenance on equipment and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions to maintain efficient operation, i.e. load cell calibration.
* Ability to lift/move up to 60 pounds while maneuvering steps.
* Must be able to climb steps to include the flour storage silos. Must not be afraid of heights or tight areas.
* Forklift, man-lift, stand up lift, and hand truck certification.
* Trash compactor training.
* Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
* Must be willing and able to work unscheduled overtime as needed.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Candidate must have working knowledge of computers, GMPs, and HACCP. Candidate must have basic math/business math skills and must be capable of receiving OSHA Certified Forklift Operator training. In addition, then candidate will have no more than three (3) attendance points and no disciplinary actions above an oral warning in the past twelve (12) months, and have a general understanding of plant policies and procedures and demonstrate leadership skills. Education and / or Experience:

High School diploma or General Education degree (GED); further education in a relevant area is a plus.

Reasoning Ability:

Must have ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardizations exist. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to extreme cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
