Role Summary

Cigna has an exciting opportunity for a strategic and motivated communications professional to join our Business Communications team. Specifically, this individual will lead internal executive communications for the President and Chief Operating Officer of Evernorth in partnership with the Evernorth communications leader. Areas of focus will including supporting the development of an executive communications plan, town halls, internal presentations, blogs and intranet content, emails and other employee communications. This individual will collaborate closely with the Evernorth communications team to ensure communications pull through business priorities and strategies into all messaging.

Key Responsibilities

Lead internal executive communications strategy for Evernorths President and Chief Operating Officer.

Lead and develop a wide variety of executive communications such as internal speeches and presentations, briefings, leadership messages, Town Hall meetings, organizational announcements, and intranet content, among others.

Collaborate with Evernorth senior leadership and the Evernorth communications team to build communications plans.

Build communications that engage and inspire employees, and connect them to business strategy and priorities.

Ensure all communications and materials are consistent with the Evernorth brand and culture.

Monitor and evaluate results of communications programs, using specific metrics to track progress and insights for continuous improvement.

Ideal candidates will offer:

8-10+ years of communications experience, preferably in global corporations.

Experience in the health insurance industry or healthcare is needed.

Strong executive speechwriting skills.

Comfort and competence in interacting with C-level executives.

Agility in working in a matrixed organization model.

Experience in employee, executive, and large-scale program communications Deep understanding and appreciation of the rules and nuances of the English language

Bachelors or Masters degree in communications or related discipline.

Strong creative skills, including with visual communications.

Record of success handling multiple projects and ability to tie results to strategic business objectives.

Proven analytical skills and ability to develop end to end strategy.

Influence and coordination skills to work with other internal areas and outside vendors to meet deadlines.

Creative judgment, proactive and strong communication skills.

Tact and discretion to work with employees at all levels.

Location: Bloomfield, CT; New York, NY; Philadelphia, PA, St. Louis, MO or Work at home with willingness to travel

This position is not eligible to be performed in Colorado.
