The Boeing Missile and Weapon Systems Team located in St. Charles, MO is seeking Mid-Level Navigation Analysts to participate in the development of navigation solutions for existing weapon systems that expand the missions they can perform in a variety of unique and interesting ways. You would be part of a highly collaborative and diverse team with many levels of experience.
Position Responsibilities:
* Contribute to developing models, simulation tools, and navigation strategies for systems that use Global Positioning System (GPS) and Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) sensor aided navigation techniques
* Use models, simulations, and analyses developed within the team to design navigation algorithms and predict system performance for a variety of airborne weapon platforms
* Use models, simulations, and analyses developed within the team to define requirements for implementing navigation algorithms in software
* Collect and review data from lab and van testing to measure/validate navigation performance against design requirements
* Have opportunities to travel to US and international locations to support flight test activities and troubleshoot operational and delivered product anomalies
* Interact with navigation equipment suppliers and military/civilian Customers
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
* Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
* Experience with computer programming using software languages such as C, C, C++, FORTRAN, or other common programming languages
* Experience with developing or using modeling and simulation tools
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
* Knowledge of estimation theory (e.g. Kalman filtering)
* Knowledge of GPS or other sensor aided navigation
* Knowledge of inertial navigation
* Knowledge of advanced mathematical principles as applied to aerospace analysis and modeling (Examples could include transform methods, computational geometry, numerical linear algebra, optimization, computational math, numerical analysis, and Monte Carlo analysis)
* Experience designing and analyzing navigation systems
* Experience using Matlab/Simulink
Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
