Principal Project Manager

The responsibilities of this role will include:

Working with our internal and external clients by obtaining an in-depth understanding of businessobjectives, logistical needs, and budget constraints

Making proposals, recommendations and providing educated guidance on the creation and evolution ofAssociate events and experiences

Managing all pre-event components, including budget management, Request For Proposals (RFPs),venue selection, contract negotiation, invitation creation, AV coordination, food and beverage selection,vendor management, host preparation, and materials coordination (i.e. gifts, giveaways, name badges,programs, posters)

Working with Executives and leaders onsite at events to ensure flawless execution

Mapping and improving process flows and interaction models

Reviewing invoices for accuracy and processing payments

Overseeing on-site management of venue and any outside vendors

Leveraging technology and data to inform decision making as well as increase the engagement strategy

Conducting post-event recap meetings and sharing out the findings in a concise and compelling way

A successful candidate must have:

A proven record of achievement in their current position

Strong critical thinking and excellent problem solving skills with the ability to pivot in real time andprovide clear recommendations in an ever-changing environment

Self-directed initiative, resourcefulness, and the ability to prioritize workload and act with urgency

Strong project management, time management, multitasking and organizational skills

The ability to creatively and strategically ideate, as well as execute in white space

The ability to influence and cultivate positive relationships with C-level executives

Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal

Demonstrated awareness of in-person and virtual event production best practices and trends

Superior customer service skills

A calm and organized approach to working in high pressure situations

Excellent computer and analytical skills

Flexibility to work occasional nights and weekends

Willingness to travel (up to 25%)

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree

At least 3 years experience in event planning and event management

At least 3 years experience in budgeting and negotiating contracts

At least 2 years experience in project management

At least 2 years experience working with a Strategic Meeting Management Program (SMMP)

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Hospitality or Event Planning

Certified Meeting Professional Designation

5 years experience in event planning, corporate or third party management preferred

5 years experience in budgeting and negotiating contracts of all types

4 years experience in project management

3 years experience working with an SMMP (Cvent preferred)
