Work Hours/Shift:

Per Diem, Day Shift

You Will Be Responsible For:

* Provides needs assessment to clients. Determines client goals. Sets schedule with client.
* Researches health and wellness issues, concerns, or diseases
* Provides fitness assessment and training program according to industry guidelines.
* Develops innovative plans ensuring safety and variety.
* Monitors clients progress and modifies program as necessary.
* Provides ongoing training sessions and encourages compliance with regular client follow up
* Motivates and encourages clients and communicates regarding activity, form and safety.
* Documents program and records and tracks changes
* Educates clients in current and scientifically based exercise principles
* Demonstrates interest in improving wellness and fitness of clients.
* Presents at employer and community health promotion events and group educational events.
* Promotes and markets personal training programs to increase client base.
* Promotes Health and Wellness Center internally and externally.
* Remains current in industry standards.
* Provides reporting and signage on faulty equipment, and other requested functions that support a clean and safe facility.

Qualifications
What You Will Need:

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

* High language, intermediate math, high reasoning ability. Personal computer, word processing. Ability to convey a positive image and build a positive relationship with others. Ability to work with a large degree of independence. Ability to work with diverse groups of people.
* 1-2 years of personal and/or group fitness instruction preferred
* Sports and medical fitness knowledge preferred

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

* Associates degree in Health/Wellness or related field, or equivalent work experience.
* American Heart Association BLS Certification.
* Personal Training Certification from a Nationally recognized Organization, such as ACE, ACSM, NETA, NASM, or NSCA
* Demonstrate strong knowledge of exercise technique, fitness recommendations and injury/illness prevention.
* Ability to develop individualized exercise prescriptions based on fitness assessment.
* Ability to evaluate patient's response to exercise conditioning and discontinue exercise as appropriate.
* Demonstrated ability to provide group training and present on health and fitness topics
* Bachelor of Science degree with concentration in Exercise Physiology preferred.
* 1-2 years of experience in training clients in weight lifting and cardiovascular conditioning preferred

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

Personal Training Certification with a nationally recognized Organization such as ACE, ACSM, NETA, NASM, or NSCA, and BLS

Job Summary:

Provides comprehensive wellness/fitness programming for individuals or small groups and offers education on recommended lifestyle exercise changes, prevention and proper exercise technique. Exhibits excellent customer service and communication via phone, personal, and written interactions with members and staff. Adheres to all Florida Hospitals performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center.
