Job Description

SIG is seeking a software developer to join the Fixed Income development team. As a member of this team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a variety of front end and server-side applications used by traders and operations used in the trading and management of bonds, swaps and other financial securities in the prop and brokerage space. Sample products include trading applications and modules, backend pricing and risk calculation systems, backend reference data systems that load and translate into our reference data models, and straight-through-processing of trades from external sources.

This is a great opportunity to work closely with and gain in-depth knowledge of SIG's fixed income trading business.

Essential Functions:

Design, develop and support a variety of applications including server-side, batch, plugin and desktop applications
Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle including requirements gathering from users which include traders, operations, and other technical teams

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related discipline or its foreign equivalent. Relevant technical experience may substitute for education.
At least two years of progressive experience developing software applications. Recent hands-on experience with object-oriented programming is required, preferably C#.
Strong relational database knowledge is required (Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server)
Eagerness to learn about the business as well as technology.
Ability to meet deadlines and adapt in a fast-paced environment is required.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well both independently and in a team environment are necessary.
