Reporting to Director, Leadership Development, you will have the responsibility of executing enterprise-wide solutions, processes and best practices of talent management. You will work closely with our broader HR team, Legal, and business leaders to develop and implement a comprehensive and integrated talent management strategy to accelerate our high-performing culture and ensure robust, diverse and ready talent pipelines.
Job Description
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
* Proactively partner with Talent, HRIS, HR business partners (HRBP), business leaders and the broader HR community to prioritize talent management initiatives.
* Lead the development and deployment of best-in-class talent management practices such as performance management, career development, talent assessment, talent review and succession planning.
* Integrate diversity, equity and inclusion best practices throughout talent management processes, systems and programs.
* Partner with HR, Legal and other key internal stakeholders to develop talent assessment framework, standardized & compliant assessment practices, and vetted external resources to support talent assessment requirements for selection and development purposes.
* Partner with HR and business leaders to integrate Thrivent shared purpose, values, leadership competencies, workforce value proposition, talent & total reward philosophy throughout our talent management efforts.
* Provide consultation for HRBPs and business leaders with regards to talent strategy and talent planning for specific teams.
* Ensure solutions reflect strategic alignment of business priorities, leading-edge thinking, and proven effective practices in the industry.
* Effectively evaluate, source and manage external service providers to meet project deliverables as well as financial and compliance requirements.
* Build and lead extended teams of directly aligned resources, stakeholders and matrixed resources to deliver on key initiatives.
* Develop and report on key metrics of programs and processes to monitor trends, demonstrate meaningful impact, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Required Job Qualifications:
* Bachelors Degree required. Masters Degree in a related field preferred (e.g. human resources, organization development, MBA, I/O psychology, etc.).
* At least 8 years of progressive experience leading large-scale, cross-functional initiatives.
* Demonstrated expertise and proven track record in talent management practices.
* Extensive experience influencing stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
* Experience in other human resource roles (HRBP, talent analytics, HR operations, etc) preferred.
* Expertise in talent management practices (such as talent assessment, talent strategy, performance management, succession planning, talent development, etc).
* Strong business acumen, ability to connect the dots, identify strategic business priorities and drive meaningful impact in pragmatic and sustainable ways.
* Strategic thinker with strong conceptual ability, coupled with a proven track record of executing initiatives with excellence.
* Analytical thinking, skilled at deriving insights from data and conceptualizing strategies to address business-critical issues.
* Exceptional communication and influencing skills. Ability to build trusted relationships with senior business leaders.
* Ability to effectively work under pressure, handle highly sensitive issues and manage competing priorities.
* Excellent coaching and consultation skills.
* Collaborative leader, able to challenge the status quo while building effective partnerships with key stakeholders.
* Continuous learner to keep up with emerging trends and integrate latest evidence and insights in the industry.
* Location: Minneapolis preferred. Virtual work will also be considered, with ability to travel 25-75% time to Minneapolis and other regions in the US.
