VP Finance Business Systems
News Corp is embarking on a journey of transformation. We are looking for a Finance processes and operations systems leader wanting to join a dynamic Core Transformation team to help transform business processes, operations and Systems. This finance leader and change manager will have a deep understanding of finance systems and system processes whose primary focus will be working closely with Finance business stakeholders and Finance technology to plan, conduct, and direct the analysis of complex business problems to be solved with process changes and/or automated systems. The role will outline the overall business case and help shape the initiatives around people, processes and systems which will be delivered as part of a multi year transformation roadmap for finance. Owning business benefits and ensuring they are delivered and looking for ways to improve and optimize the way the finance teams globally work. The work will outline current and future finance team structure and processes. Working with the technology teams to outline systems and technology roadmaps to support the current and intended finance organization structures.

Responsibilities:
* Represents finance business views as a core customer for key financial applications, including finance data strategy
* Serve as the primary thought leader for finance in coordinating the execution of major technology solution development and deployment
* Baseline the current finance technology footprint
* Working as a partner to the Finance Technology Team to define the core Finance technology strategy, roadmap and architecture
* Define the finance role both during the implementation of finance applications and post Go Live stabilization and business as usual
* Coordinate with enterprise-wide ERP deployments to ensure consistency, standardization, and leading practice in design and implementation of Finance processes
* Define and maintain the finance data management strategy, including interdependencies with key applications sponsored by other business functions
* Drive the Finance Master Data Management strategy, approach, and governance activities across all Finance processes, and serve as the Finance interface with other functions where master data attributes are shared
* Define the finance automation strategy, both interim and long-term
* Partner with finance process owners and application owners to develop detailed business requirements and system automation
* Partner with key finance stakeholders, including finance process owners, end users and technology to consult with vendors to prioritize and document value added needs make informed recommendations for management
* Work closely with finance process owners to ensure that technology (ERP and Fit for purpose) solution architecture aligns with business process designs
* Stay up-to-date with leading business technology trends and establish a shared vision for the future of innovation, with a focus on the role of technology in transforming the scale, cost, and impact of finance technology solutions
* Partner with finance process owners and technology develop innovative technology enabled solutions to address business requirements. Monitor implementation and user satisfaction.
* Partners with the Enterprise lead for Finance to conduct studies on new technology and recommends changes based on these findings. Leads, Conducts, and facilitates meetings. Leads in the development and implementation of strategic plans. Produces status reports, and project plans to management as required
* Works closely with vendors to ensure software delivered meets business expectations. May participate in user acceptance testing and/or sprint review sessions
Requirements:
* Successful track record implementing ERP systems in matrix global organizations from a business standpoint
* Successful track record in stabilizing finance operations post ERP Go Live (SAP preferred)
* 10+ years of in-depth finance business knowledge and system design
* 5+ Finance domain knowledge
* 5+ years of project management skills
* Advanced communication skills level for composing and writing original business requirements, recommendations, reports, and internal presentations to management
* Strong communication skills in building bridges between finance and technology
* Demonstrates strong leadership, consulting, and negotiation skills
* Must possess exceptional computer skills and demonstrate proficiency in using MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, which are all necessary for the creation of visually and verbally engaging reports
* Prior experience using VISIO, JIRA and Confluence is strongly recommended
* Prior experience working on projects using an iterative methodology to deliver is a plus
* Must have exceptional attention to detail, have an ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines, have creative and innovative problem-solving skills, be self-motivated and proactive, and demonstrate calmness during times of uncertainty and stress. Must possess the natural ability to get along with all types of people at all levels within the organization.
* Comfortable with adapting style to flex between detailed vs high-level analysis to drive optimal decisions for the business
