Title: Software Test Engineer - Entry Level - 71030

Your Responsibilities

As a Software Test Engineer for John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group ISG located in Waterloo, IA, you will:

* Create, automate, update, debug, and execute software test procedures for various operator station components, systems, and platforms, while complying with a defined development process and software testing principles
* Participate on Agile-based software development teams and collaborate with cross functional product test teams, such as product level testing
* Embrace and Innovate tools for requirements, test plans, test procedures, test execution, test reporting, and test results like PREEVision, Rally, simulators, ECU-Test and Code Collaborator
* Collaboration and troubleshooting with verification champions, testers, developers, and stakeholders

What Skills You Need

* Proven experience in Electrical and/or Software Engineering performing analysis, design, and testing for embedded software projects
* Experience reviewing and interpreting software requirements
* General understanding of programming languages (e.g., C, C++, Python, Batch script, Model-Based)
* Experience with embedded systems tools such as emulators, compilers, simulators, etc.
* Effective communicator with teamwork experience
* Good analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
* Knowledge of electronic circuits and components, such as microcontrollers, FETs, EEPROM/Flash, etc., with the ability to read schematics and data sheets

What Makes You Stand Out

* Experience in embedded systems testing in one or multiple levels: Model-in-the-Loop (MiL), Software-in-the-Loop (SiL), Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL), and Vehicle-in-the-Loop (VIL)
* Experience in ECU-Test package creation, framework, libraries, and execution
* Experience with software configuration management, software planning, code review, test planning, test execution, test result reporting, and/or root cause analysis tools
* ISTQB Foundation Level software testing certification (CTFL)
* Experience with SAE J1939 CAN analysis tools, specifically CANoe , CANape, or CANalyzer
* Knowledge of operator controls and components in cabs of off-road vehicles
* Experience with continuous integration development, using automated build and regression test practices
* Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio IDE or MATLAB

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

* Bachelors degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Equivalent.
