Overview:
Manages projects from inception to completion (or transition), including tracking and evaluation of project performance. Ensures that projects are completed on time, within budget, and within accepted quality metrics. Participates in project review and status meetings, and communicates project status. Utilizes six sigma and project management methodologies to ensure maximum project effectiveness. Motivates project team to ensure optimal performance. May assist in the development of business plans, strategies, and approaches to take advantage of business opportunities.
Responsibilities:
Primary interface with customer for area of responsibilities for their specific sub-projects; Design & working sessions/ installations/ testing and status reports.
Directs & coordinates the work activities and subcontractors
Prepare bids & quotes for systems
Prepares reports for upper management regarding status of project
Develop a clear understanding of all contract requirements and negotiate all installation subcontracts
Control & inventory of equipment
Coordinate installation, optimization, testing & training
Prepare budget reports/ ensures the profitability of their project(s) or sub-projects
Specific Knowledge/Skills:
Experience with at least one of the following: Public Safety communications systems, Cellular infrastructure, Military communications, Civil construction or IT Networks
Proficient in developing project documents with standard desktop applications (e.g. MS Project) as well as have experience in a cloud based document management system (Google, SharePoint).
PM Masters Certificate a plus. PMP highly desired. PMP and/or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM).
Understanding of two way radio / cellular infrastructure communications products, services, and systems.
Understanding of local public safety customers, such as police, fire, and emergency medical services is a plus.
Must be a self motivated team player able to work effectively with general guidance toward objectives.
Must have excellent interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills
NOTE: Candidate must sit in GA - Area of project work is primarily located in GA, NC, and SC - may include additional travel to manage projects in T4W including TN, AR, LA, MS, AL, and FL
Basic Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business preferred, depending on accompanying level of experience and minimum of 3+ years of general work experience in the communications field with project management experience
OR 5+ years of project management experience
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
