JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Quality Control Manager, this position is responsible for developing CMM Programs to be utilized in the inspection of Aluminum CNC Machined product. Responsibilities include working with a team of CMM Programmers, as well as Level III Quality Inspectors and Manufacturing Engineers to develop robust, efficient and industry compliant CMM Programs for NPI and Production Product.

This role will have developed industry recognized technical expertise in inspection practices and methodologies for complex machined metal products and assemblies. Will be expected to provide technical direction, leadership, and optimization of inspection solutions for new and existing product designs. Will be expected to demonstrate a level of expertise in CMM Programming, Sampling Plan selection, Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (GR&R), Metrology, and GD&T.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Develop CMM Programs through experience and proven abilities in programming

* Prove out CMM Programs using experience and proven abilities in manual measurement

* Assist in selection of new CMMs and automation solutions

* Provide input in reviewing customer designs for inspect-ability during NPI phase, to optimize the product for inspection and de-risk the inspection challenges.

* Coordinate with other internal SMEs and thought leaders to solve technical issues.

* Utilize root cause analysis techniques to help solve problems

* Participation in CAPA, 8D and FMEA initiatives

* Contribute to the development of Inspection Procedures

* Leverage lessons-learned to improve documentation and training

* Contribute to shaping a positive, effective, and collaborative team cultures

* Communicate technical aspects of projects effectively to internal and external customers

* Influence and contribute to the development of Quality Inspectors and peer CMM Programmers

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

* Certified Mechanical Inspector (CMI - ASQ) (Preferred)

* 5+ years of experience in CMM Programming and manual inspection for machining environment

* 5+ years of experience utilizing Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles

* Deep knowledge across multiple technical competencies

* Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously

* Strong Leadership and Interpersonal skills

* Resilience and ability to operate in fast-pace, high pressure environment

* Demonstrated high performance orientation, detail orientation, market knowledge and sound judgment

* Demonstrated ability to build and leverage partnerships with internal customers, external customers, and industry professionals

* Proficiency in use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

* Spanish, Mandarin and/or Vietnamese speaking a plus
