Specific Job Description

Performs a variety of duties necessary to drive, support, and facilitate the successful quality engineering efforts to assess, trend, and drive improvements in the quality performance of suppliers. Specific duties may include: coordination and facilitation of the scheduling of audits and other onsite assessments of suppliers; aggregation and analysis of various data inputs to assess supplier concerns and risks; leadership of the efforts to evaluate the performance of suppliers who provide services to NNS; extraction, analysis, summarization and reporting of multiple sources of supplier-related performance data, in order to assess the health of individual suppliers, of subsets of the supply base, and of the entire supply base; assistance to supplier quality engineers in planning and preparing for supplier quality audits, in allocating and tracking alignment to budgets, in documenting and reporting audit results, and in the creation, tracking and closure of supplier corrective action requests; review, analysis, tracking & monitoring of supplier responses to requests for corrective/preventive action; tracking and reporting the status and aging of various action plans and documents; analysis, reporting and trending of supplier non-conformances and other supplier performance metrics.

General Template Job Description

Plans, organizes, directs and reports on all supplier quality-related activities such as raw materials, packaging materials, good manufacturing practices (GMP) service providers, as well as contract manufacturers, and/or contract manufacturing and laboratories to assure fulfillment of contract/purchase order requirements. Translates engineering, manufacturing, and quality requirements. Assures that customer quality-imposed technical requirements are adhered to by supplier and that a quality system is maintained. Conducts programs designed to improve supplier performance, productivity, and process validation. Prepares, maintains and reviews procurement quality assurance procedures to assure compliance with customer and/or government requirements. Reviews and analyzes corrective action reports and purchase orders in an effort to reduce and eliminate defects. Monitors quality control activities and systems at supplier and subcontractor facilities, and maintains feedback loops. May administer a certified supplier program or related programs in receiving inspection. May also audit third party manufacturers, due diligence and vendor selection process. May perform deviation investigations into quality issues.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience. Master's Degree and 4 years of experience. 4 years of related exempt experience can be substituted for Bachelor's degree. 8 years of non-related exempt experience can be substituted for Bachelor's degree. A relevant professional certification can be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree. An Apprentice Certificate or graduation from Navy Nuclear Power School can be substituted for Bachelor's degree.
