Job Description
Production Specialist are responsible for leading and demonstrating DuPont core values, as well as, quality, and housekeeping standards. Production Specialists will also ensure a respectful work environment. Conflict resolution capabilities are critical along with making recommendations to Management regarding, special recognitions, and production deficiencies. Lead continuous improvement and process development opportunities at meetings, on a regular basis.
Uses knowledge of production operations and systems to assess skill level, develop and execute training for the Organization. Maintain and/or upgrade productions systems, conduct line walks and audits. Act as a mentor for shift activity coordinators and production associates. Manages the production documentation and associated MOC's and requirements to assure compliance. Works with supply chain and area manager to ensure all machine parameters are documented and production schedule is followed. Evaluates data using statistical methodology and monitors compliance with quality specifications. Uses significant process experience, knowledge, and training.
Works with the site training organization to conduct and support employee training programs. Conducts ongoing evaluations to ensure effectiveness of programs and recommends modifications as necessary. Functions as first line of production troubleshooting. Works to resolve conflicts through mentoring and peer leadership.
Basic functions of production specialist:
* Mentors site production associates.
* Leads focused production improvement teams.
* Works with Supply chain on producibility of the products to schedule.
* Assess training needs based on prior training history and evaluations of associates' current level of expertise
* Research identified areas of training needed or production improvements
* Prepare monitors production performance data and recommends improvement opportunities to Area Manager.
* Train associates in small groups (review training modules with hands on follow-up)
* Evaluate training effectiveness through testing
* Act as liaison with production personnel:
* answer questions
* audit work
* resolve discrepancies
* retrain as necessary
* mentor
* Monitor operations working hours
* Assist in development of plant SOPs.Work with quality team to solve customer/product issues as necessary.
* Reviews and approves SOPs ensuring alignment with Corporate, Site and Regulatory requirements.
* Assists in investigations including product complaint follow-up.
* Participates in site or global projects and improvement efforts, as needed.
* Review plant production documentation.
* Other duties may be assigned.
* Observe safety regulations, wear all required safety equipment, encourage safe working practices, correct obvious hazards immediately or reports them to supervisors.
* Direct and coordinate compliance with all standards such as IATF 16949 and other applicable customer requirements.
* Ensure that all department personnel are trained to perform their jobs effectively.
* Review product and process non-conformance and recommend remedial actions including but not limited to modifications of processes, products or QA standards where warranted.
* Provides direct support to a production area 24/7.
* Job functions are performed primarily on the production shop floor and in a team environment.
* Performs audit of process documents, and other production logs to ensure completeness and accuracy for assigned products or production area.
* Provides coaching and mentoring of operators completing documentation.
* Coordinates with Production to discuss, resolve, and eliminate documentation observations.
* Assists with training of incoming personnel and ensures compliance with departmental procedures.
* Updates and reviews Standard Operating Procedures.
Job Qualification
* 10 + years of manufacturing experience in automotive adhesives.
* Demonstrated leadership, collaboration and communication skills
* Demonstrated capability to quickly understand technology and drive / support change
* Proven ability to lead cultural changes and create winning teams
* Proven commitment, focus and effectiveness on advancing core values
* Is data driven, action oriented and works with a sense of urgency
* Strong communications skills, both written and verbal.

* Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse team.
* Basic computer skills including, SAP, and MS Office (particularly Excel).
* General knowledge of manufacturing facilities and operations.
* Knowledge of homogeneous mixing processes.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and sit. Climb ladders and wear Nomex and all PPE needed for the area. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds/ 55 max. A lift of over 55-80 pounds will be done with two people. (Over this limit, a mechanical device will be used.) Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
