Controls Technician

What this job involves

Principal Job Duties and Responsibilities:

* Test, maintain and troubleshoot PLCs and PLC components using relevant software.
* Assists other operational staff members in repair and maintenance of building equipment and compliance with all required maintenance and safety audits.
* Uses a computerized maintenance management work order system (CMMS) to open and close work orders.
* Complies with policies for the safe storage, usage and disposal of hazardous materials. Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
* Maintains records for work completed in a neat and organized manner.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
* Monitor BAS, HVAC & CEMS and partner with facilities/client operations teams to deploy system performance improvements within the fulfillment center
* Apply subject matter expertise in computerized system Equipment and electronic systems to maximize equipment availability.
* Work within the cross-site network to provide support and guidance for other fulfillment centers.
* Perform calibrations for equipment and systems including but not limited to: Temperature, Oxygen/Gas Sensor, Oxygen Analyzers, Dew Point and Other Environmental Systems.
* Ensure that all calibrations are performed on time according to schedules.
* Communicate technical issues and project timeline with building leadership, operations and the maintenance team. Explain production impacts and work closely with operations and engineering to ensure a thorough understanding of impact to systems.
* Interfacing with the pest control for carrying out the pest control activities at the facility and completed proper GMP documentation.
* Industrial electrical hands-on experience and troubleshooting, including 480V 3-phase, 110 VAC, and 24VDC systems

Qualifications

* Experience with Allen Bradley products is preferred
* Experience with automation controls systems
* Work Experience At least one year working in Biopharma or Pharmaceutical industry.
* Special knowledge and skills - Some skills in electrical and mechanical aptitude a must.
* Personal characteristics - Team player, hard worker, good interpersonal skills, ability to communicate well in both oral and written reports and have excellent customer service skills.
* For internal candidates, must consistently receive a meets expectations job performance review.
* Knowledge of NFPA Standards & Local/State Codes
* Technical degree within HVAC or electrical discipline a plus.

Job Requirements:

* Visually inspect buildings.
* Ability to frequently walk up and down stairs for inspections and emergency procedure practice or implementation.
* Ability to climb ladders up to 40 feet and lift 60 lbs repeatedly.
* Ability to detect emergency alarms - auditory and/or visual.
* Building inspections require getting on hands and knees to reach areas difficult to access.
