Amazon Self Service Performance Advertising is investing heavily in building a world class advertising business and we are responsible for defining and delivering a collection of advertising products that drive discovery and sales. Our products are strategically important to our Retail and Marketplace businesses driving long term growth.
We are currently developing innovative new features and looking for top test/quality engineers to meet and raise our very high quality bar.
You will work with program management, development teams and our QA organization to scope out features and understand the customer requirements, then work side-by-side with the team to ensure the quality of our system.
You should have a demonstrated track record of taking ownership and working with other teams to deliver high quality software. You should also be comfortable presenting technical material to internal and external audiences in support of our customers. You should be able to define and implement test strategies, and test the code at the user level, both manually and with automated tools. Our QA Engineers use black box, gray box, and white box testing techniques; they are able to understand customer requirements, complex distributed system architecture and go deep into debugging problems.
Key Responsibilities
· Evaluate systems, customer facing functionality and create test strategies/ test plans to assess quality for multiple regions and marketplaces
· Execute test cases involving multiple systems, designing and developing test tools, debugging and reporting code bugs and pushing quality upstream.
· Management and execution of project plans and meeting delivery commitments.
· Work closely with technical leaders to develop the best technical design and approach for testing our functionality at scale.
· Build software quality solutions where the problem is not well defined. You are capable of understanding the interaction between the components in a distributed system in order to ensure they are functioning properly.
· Create and execute appropriate quality plans, project plans, test strategies and processes for development activities in concert with business and project management efforts.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· 4+ year of experience working as a Quality Assurance Engineer
· Experience in manual testing
· Experience in automation testing
· Bachelor's Degree
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical field or equivalent experience
· Experience in designing test strategies, test plans, test cases including knowledge of test methodologies and best practices
· Ability to build, troubleshoot and maintain automated test suites.
· Expertise with at least one modern programming language such as Java, Python or C
· Experience testing distributed systems
· Proficiency in GUI, API and DB testing
· Able to performs root cause analysis when triaging bugs
· Excellent communication, analytical and problem solving skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical field or equivalent experience
· 1+ years’ experience with driving quality for a program
· Experience working closely with development and business teams to present quality/test data, read business data, negotiate on the scope of test coverage/timing/resources, and to actively pull business requirements out of data/partners and distill them to test/risk strategy.
· Deep knowledge of industry standard test automation tools and experience developing product test frameworks
· Experience with open source test automation tools and resources
· Experience with CI/CD
· Experience with testing Machine learning models
