DESCRIPTION

Are you passionate about Rust? Do you like working on open-source projects? Do you want to enable developers around the world to build on top of AWS? Do you enjoy presenting at conferences and meeting customers directly?
The AWS SDKs team is the gateway to most of the AWS services. We build the libraries that connect AWS to the worldwide developer community.
We are looking for generalists - engineers who can work on multiple languages to implement best practices while engaging the community.

You will be a good fit if you thrive on ambiguity, you love solving hard problems and you want to enable other developers to build amazing products on top of AWS.

AWS has the most services and more features within those services, than any other cloud providerfrom infrastructure technologies like compute, storage, and databasesto emerging technologies, such as machine learning and artificial intelligence, data lakes and analytics, and Internet of Things. AWS Platform is the glue that holds the AWS ecosystem together. Whether its Identity features such as access management and sign on, cryptography, console, builder & developer tools, and even projects like automating all of our contractual billing systems, AWS Platform is always innovating with the customer in mind. The AWS Platform team sustains over 750 million transactions per second.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C including object-oriented design
1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

At least 2 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation must involve: designing and developing large-scale, distributed software applications, tools, systems and services using Rust and Object Oriented Design.
Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams and senior management to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs and product strategy.
Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing and operations.
Experience developing with Rust language.
Experience designing SDKs.
