As a Software Development Engineer in S3, you get to deliver these capabilities and delight our customers through teams of talented engineers and leaders.
We are currently looking for talented software development engineers to lead innovation in our Amazon S3 Storage Nodes team. Our team is passionate about the incredible opportunity that Amazon S3 presents and about cloud computing, in general. You will have the opportunity to deliver high quality technology products/services in a hyper-growth environment where priorities shift fast. Your day to day would include:
Design, implementation, deployment and maintenance of innovative software solutions to deliver new features in performance, cost, reliability.
Using software engineering best practices and tooling to ensure the standard of quality of all team deliverables.
Building and implementing high quality distributed system software across all of S3 globally.
Working in an agile development environment prioritizing most important and impactful projects.
Participating in hiring and mentoring of junior engineers and interns and helping them grow and become successful in their careers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C including object-oriented design
1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with Rust would be helpful, but is not essential. We're happy to train you up.
