POSITION SUMMARY:
The Pro Sales Rep will report to the Pro Sales Supervisor and will be primarily based out of Portland, OR. The ideal candidate will bring a professional, collaborative and multi-tasking demeanor to the role. Additionally, he or she will be a resourceful self-starter able to anticipate obstacles, creatively unravel them and take proactive steps to manage circumstances with minimal supervision.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
As a Pro Sales Rep (PSR), you will be responsible for visiting and building rapport with Lowes Pro Desks, Store Managers, Key Decision Makers (KDMs), Account Executive of Pro Services (AEPS), Market Directors and Vice Presidents of Store Operations (VPSO) within the assigned region and/or market(s) to promote Sherwin-Williams product offerings to deepen existing business relationships and grow sales within the Pro segment.
You will be primarily responsible for driving and increasing Pro business sales with assigned stores. The PSR is the primary sales representative responsible for contractor sales within the region and/or market(s). As such, the PSR is responsible for growing, developing, maintaining and managing the overall relationship with regional businesses, branches of national customers and existing business accounts on behalf of SW & Lowes ProServices. This responsibility requires 85% of time spent at the customers job sites and business locations, including meeting with and further developing business customer relationships. Through this effort, the ultimate goal of the PSR is to increase SW Pro Sales penetration within assigned region and/or market(s).
The PSR will also have responsibility for working collaboratively with the SW Lowes field sales and Lowes ProServices teams who support the PSRs sales growth efforts by serving as the fulfillment center and local relationship contact for the PSRs assigned stores. The PSR will also serve as a key partner in driving Pro sales by managing and supporting relationships and/or sales opportunities as the local level. The PSR is also responsible for collaborating directly with and actively involving the Division Director and applicable RSMs in their assigned territory on sales and service opportunities and new business leads and generation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
At least three years of relevant professional Sales experience and/or calling on contractors within retail or consumer goods industry; previous experience selling into Big Box stores strongly preferred. Additional 1-2 years of experience selling products to strategic accounts in home improvement, construction or property maintenance industry strongly preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent, required; Bachelors degree strongly preferred.
Ability to travel up to 75%, including overnight travel.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

May require prolonged standing in retail store environment.
Ability to accurately distinguish color for the purpose of visual color matching and color recommendations.
Licensed and physically capable of operating a motor vehicle (passenger car).
