This position is response for inventory control in the maintenance shop, as well as receiving and storing parts, maintenance supplies, and miscellaneous receivers while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
Responsible for receiving parts to inventory. Maintain manuals, MSDS sheets, equipment manuals and catalog files. Keep purchase order files orderly and expedite late orders as required. Cycle count all of maintenance inventory on a monthly basis and correct problem areas. Help maintain records of the PM program and distribute paper work as required. Keypunch daily work sheets from the mechanics. Put up all inventory when received into the correct location. Keep files of parts received into the correct location. Match invoices to closed purchases orders checking for accuracy in quantities received and prices billed. Keep warranty files updated.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform similar or related duties to maintain the condition of buildings and equipment. Perform all duties in accordance with USDA company policy and established procedures. Maintain a clean work area. In the event of absence, the next level down on the organizational chart covers for the level up. Employee has an individual responsibility to report all possible deficiencies or practices that could compromise food safety. Employee is to adhere to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) at all times.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Have excellent mechanical aptitude. Very organized and able to keep accurate files. Excellent attendance. Basic knowledge of motors, hydraulics, ovens, grinding systems, etc. Able to work weekends. Must be self motivated. Able to lift up to 75 pounds some parts overhead.
Prefer knowledge of basic inventory procedures. Mathematically inclined. Computer skills a plus.
