This position is responsible for solving complex and pertinent business problems using data analytics and lean process skills. You will collaborate with other analysts and business partners within I.T. to examine business processes and solve gaps and inefficiencies in the design of solutions. Your job will be to identify, analyze, and interpret trends and patterns in complex data sets. You will use various Data Analytics tools (including Tableau, Power BI, GCP, Google BigQuery) to translate complex data results into data visualizations for senior decision makers, and you will apply various algorithms to data sets to maximize predictive analytics accuracy. Your goal will be to provide insight into business problems that can be analyzed with the available data, and where necessary, gather, manipulate, and analyze large data sets from multiple sources. Additionally, the ability to convey complex topics in an easily understood manner is critical.
Requirements:
Education: Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or an equivalent degree with experience equating to a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems.
Experience: 6+ years of progressive experience in Information Systems or area related to data analytics, or advanced degree with 4+ years of progressive experience.
Software Skills:
* Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings. Application of mathematical methods in predictive analytics, including regression, forecasting, risk modeling methods, and other advanced computational concepts.
* Proven experience with Tableau, Power BI, GCP, Google BigQuery. Leveraging data visualization and analytic tools to grasp the business building insights in our data for solving ad-hoc business problems, innovating on potential future solutions, and working with technology partners to translate innovations into robust, scaled analytic solutions.
* Acquire and organize new data sets, mine data for patterns, visually represent data, and develop machine learning algorithms.
* Transform data into impactful business insights and expose opportunities, strategy recommendations and implementation plans to improve key performance metrics for the business.
* Experience working in an Agile software development environment
Communication Skills: Above average verbal and written skills, ability to communicate technical solutions to non-technical team members, and experience providing constructive and actionable feedback to other team members.
Special Skills:
* Ability to work independently in an Agile culture with quick turnaround times and deliverables.
* Ability and experience using statistical analysis, quantitative analytics, and/or forecasting/predicting analytics to solve problems and deliver real value.
* Proficiency across most modeling and machine learning techniques (regression, tree models, survival analysis, cluster analysis, forecasting, anomaly detection, association rules).
Supervisory: No supervisory responsibilities.
Travel: Some travel may be required. Amount of travel will be determined by individual project requirements.
