High school diploma or general education degree (GED), plus one (1) year of supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The primary purpose of this position is to supervise the timely completion and excellent quality of work completed by associates within a specific department in the distribution center. Frequent independent judgments are essential. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws. The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned: *Ensure associates in the department have sufficient materials and training to perform their duties adequately. Review the workflow of the department to ensure it is adequate and to resolve any issues that arise; track associate attendance. *Conduct safety audits within the department to ensure work completed by associates is done in a safe manner; conduct safety training when needed. *Monitor the slot-fill status and workload to eliminate omissions and ensure the order fillers bin is full. *Provide leadership and coaching to associates within the department to ensure they are operating at peak performance. *Assist associates in the department with their duties when required. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES : This position assists the Department Manager with the direct supervision of associates within a specific department of the distribution center and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Rite Aid policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, directing, rewarding, and disciplining associates; appraising associate performance; and resolving complaints. *All duties described in this document are to be performed in keeping with the core values and service attributes consistent with the Rite Aid brand and strategy.
