Located in Valley View, Ohio, Harley-Davidson Dealer Systems (HDDS) provides dealer management software, computer hardware, training and support for the Harley-Davidson dealer network. Join our team as a .NET Developer.

Job Summary

The .NET Developer is a member the Software Development team responsible for the design and development of new product features, functional enhancements and fixes to our proprietary Dealer Management System (DMS) which can best be thought of as a small business ERP system designed for use in Power Sports dealerships.

This role is an active participant in the day to day development of the DMS system, working alongside other developers and quality analysts to deliver a quality product. You will be responsible for implementing solutions under the direction of a Senior developer and/or overall team leadership. Additionally, you will provide feedback on technical designs and aids the other members of the team as necessary.

Job Responsibilities

* Works as part of the team to deliver a quality product
* Handles day-to-day development activity on the assigned project team
* Assists in developing estimates and schedules to accomplish software release goals
* Reports status and progress of development effort to the assigned team leader and/or Software Development Manager
* Able to take direction from more senior members of the team
* Comfortable mentoring junior members of the team, as necessary
* Supports the software release schedule
* Writes code according to design specifications
* Maintains design specification documentation

Education Specifications

A bachelor's degree in IT or a related field is preferred.

Experience Requirements

* Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of related experience working in a .NET Language (C is preferred)
* Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of developing against Microsoft SQL Server (stored procedures, views, functions, etc.) or a comparable RDBMS (MySQL, Postgres, etc.)
* The ideal candidate will have 1 to 2 years experience working with WinForms; in lieu of WinForms experience demonstrated experience working with distributed systems will be accepted.
* A good understanding of .NET (Windows Servicing, WinForms, ASP.NET MVC, etc.)
* A good understanding of Web Servicing (Web API, WCF, etc.)
* Exposure to .NET Core is highly desirable
* Familiarity with React and React Hooks is highly desirable
* Experience writing unit tests and working with mocking frameworks is desired
* A good understanding of SDLC concepts
* A self-starter that can work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
* Ability to communicate effectively through various channels
* Functional knowledge of retail, motorcycle, or automotive industries is a plus
* Exposure to reporting solutions (SSRS / Crystal Reports), scrum (or other Agile frameworks), InstallShield or WiX Tools
* Experience writing integration tests and/or UI automation scripts
