The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, evaluating, and improving manufacturing methods to achieve improved quality, product cost, and manufacturing efficiency. This position applies knowledge of design, materials/components, fabrication, welding, and paint processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods and quality standards.
AS A MANUFACTURING ENGINEER, YOU WILL:
* Design, research and maintain product fixtures and machine tools to ensure the products are produced efficiently and without any defects
* Design and develop processes, and shop layout for maximum efficiency and flow
* Provide in house support for machining specialists/operators and maintenance personnel
* Lead sustaining engineering projects such as executing Engineering Change Notices, executing and sustaining Bills of Materials, processing routings and modifications, building and maintaining visual work instructions, help in developing training checklists, etc
* Collaborate with design engineers and product line teams to implement design and manufacturing changes and recommend ways to reduce product costs and improve functionality
* Manage projects from concept, design; capital appropriation requests; and qualification within project schedules and budgets
* Implement continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing principles and techniques to realize gains in employee ownership, performance, reliability
* Partner with quality department and shop floor in quality improvements through root cause analysis and problem resolution and to ensure ISO9001 compliance
* Comply with all OSHA regulations, safety requirements, and regulatory requirements in regards to Environmental, UL, ISO, and similar agencies

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
* Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience plus 2 years related experience in a machining/manufacturing environment
* Experience with CNC machining including trouble shooting, generating new programs, modifying existing programs, developing or helping to develop PM programs etc.
* Experience with ERP software (JDE preferred)
* Proficient with AutoCAD, Solidworks, and/or similar software & Microsoft Office.
* Organizational, communication, presentation, and project management skills to interface with all levels of the organization, suppliers, and customers.
* Ability to interpret technical drawing specifications and apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements.
* Knowledge and experience working in a team environment
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
* 5+ years experience in a machining/manufacturing environment
* Knowledge of problem-solving fundamentals.
* Knowledgeable on automated processes, robotics, PLC controls and programming
* Plant network systems experience
* Knowledge and application of LEAN Manufacturing techniques
