We seek a Production Supervisor to lead a highly-skilled group of production technicians at our Houston, Texas service center. The successful candidate will enjoy:
* Providing leadership and oversite across a wide variety of shop operations for a large variety of rotating equipment types,

POSITION SUMMARY
The position is responsible for the direct supervision of hourly employees engaged in the repair and spare parts order fulfillment for a wide variety of expansion, compression, and fluid handling equipment used in air separation, hydrocarbon, and petrochemical applications.
The incumbent must uphold its environmental, health, and safety philosophy and processes for both the workplace and products. He/she will be accountable for meeting repair schedule and budget performance. The incumbent must also ensure quality, provide training, foster continuous improvement, and ensure a positive work environment for all employees.
This position reports to the Operations Manager and will have primary responsibility for all shop technicians' supervision. Ensuring the safe, efficient, high quality, and timely production of all goods and services.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Ensure a safe work environment by maintaining a high level of facility housekeeping, ensuring safe work procedures are followed, and implementing Air Products Basic Safety Process,
* Provide a positive work environment and create a climate in which people are motivated and productive,
* Plan, assign, and reassign work for all employees to ensure that established repair schedules and budgets are met,
* Solve problems by identifying, defining, analyzing, and then making sound, timely decisions,
* Ensure that all work is being accomplished per quality control procedures,
* Act as a change agent by identifying Continuous Improvement opportunities, promoting the benefits of the CI culture and leading CI teams,
* Anticipate, identify and report problems in enough time to allow response by others to meet delivery requirements,
* Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills; maintain free and open communication,
* Plan and provide personnel training to maintain a knowledgeable, effective and cross-functional workforce; evaluate employee performance to judge skill development needs and foster an environment of continuous learning and development,
* Understand and demonstrate knowledge in reading prints and product designs; provide liaison between shop and design, engineering and project managers to resolve technical problems as necessary,
* Approve time charges; ensure a high level of productivity; work collaboratively with Production Planner to assist workload and utilization forecasting.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Associates degree in a related industry or previous work experience is preferred,
* Proven experience of 5 or more years of increasing supervisory responsibility directing an hourly workforce in a like industry would be beneficial,
* Previous experience with reciprocating and centrifugal pumps, compressors, and expanders,
* Extensive knowledge of manufacturing practices required,
* Extensive knowledge of geometric tolerancing and dimensioning,
* Proficient with PC programs such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.,
* SAP or similar MRP knowledge beneficial,
* Excellent attention to detail,
* The Production Supervisor position requires an individual with strong leadership abilities coupled with a good mechanical aptitude; strong organizational, planning, interpersonal, communication, and decision-making skills are essential to the position,
* The ability to work collaboratively across the business to perform supervisory responsibilities with minimum direction from management,
* The ability to understand, implement, and meet the schedule prepared by the Production Planner and Project Managers, and seek creative and effective solutions to stick to meet critical customer delivery requirements,
* A strong safety focus, with a full understanding of the applicability of Government EHS regulations and the Companys Global EHS policies and procedures to the facility and workers,
* Knowledge of quality systems and the requirements of ISO 90012015 and how they apply to production processes is beneficial.
