Work Hours/Shift:
Full Time Day
You Will Be Responsible For:
* Evaluates and manages schedules once submitted by Nurse Manager/Director
* Collaborates with staff and Managers/Directors to fill vacancies
* Collaborates with Nursing Leadership and Nursing Supervisors to float staff to provide safe and efficient patient care
* Staffs Units based on Staffing Grids and patient acuity
* Evaluates staffing needs in advance and works to fill vacancies
* Collaborates with staffing agencies for compliance, documentation and fulfilling the staffing needs
* Produces attendance reports for nurse leaders as requested
* Floats staff hours between departments to accurately reflect the hours worked
* Completes payroll tasks in a timely and accurate manner
* Maintains a collegial working relationship with Nursing Leaders and staff
* Demonstrates the ability to work independently, complete assignments and make recommendations for improvement in work processes
* Responsible for migration of policies into the new policy software tool
* Ensures that the staff who have policy and procedure development, review, editing and approval responsibilities are adequately trained in organizational policy principles, requirements and usage of the policy management software.
* Administrative oversight of the web-based policy management system in accordance with regulatory, quality, and organization requirements.
* Collaborates with policy manual owners to ensure appropriate approval processes.
* Monitors policy management system audit trails and pending overdue tasks. Tracks status of documents in process, notifying appropriate administrative bodies if compliance standards are not being performed.
Qualifications
What You Will Need:
* * Associates Degree or actively pursuing degree
* Previous experience in a hospital environment
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to read and speak English proficiently
* Proficient computer skills, including Office
Job Summary:
The Staffing Coordinator is responsible for entering patient care units' nursing schedules into the computer system. Obtains daily staffing information from the patient care units. Coordinates staffing on a projected and shift by shift basis. Assigns staff to cover vacation and sick time. Assigns staff from the float pool. Assists with Payroll including, but not limited to time corrections, floating staff hours between departments and completing payroll spreadsheets for approval. Performs minor secretarial duties to assist the Nursing Supervisors, Nurse Managers and/or Administrative Director.
