Microsoft Word is growing, and our team is doubling down our investment in the collaboration space for Word Web. We are looking for creative and driven software engineers to achieve our vision of redefining the future of collaboration in documents across all platforms and devices. Collaborators in Word are wanting a better system for the way changes are made in documents. You will help us deliver new and exciting collaboration capabilities and workflows to Word. These capabilities include driving modern collab workflows and features like comments, tasks, mentions and version history.

Your role will involve designing, building, and working on the core collaboration feature set that powers Word. You'll work closely in a small team of engineers to deliver end-to-end capabilities to millions of users which will enable you to work full stack or specialize in different areas based on your preference.

Qualified candidates are engineers with a passion for designing, owning, and shipping software, as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills. You should have a solid understanding of the software development cycle, from architecture to testing. You will work closely with customers and use data and experiments to inform decisions and validate conclusions. You'll have a passion for quality and be a creative thinker. You'll write secure, reliable, scalable, and maintainable code, and then effectively debug it, test it, and support it. You'll be excited to constantly learn new things and share those learnings with others around you to grow the capacity of the entire team.

We will be selecting candidates that have the best mix of the following qualifications:

* 3+ years of professional experience designing, developing, testing, and shipping software.
* Proficiency in C, C++, or Java.
* Demonstrated technical aptitude with design, development, debugging, testing, etc.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills.
* BS in computer science, or equivalent in related technical experience.
