Job Description:

As an Associate Manager, Quality Engineering, you will be responsible for providing handson involvement in Advanced Systems & Technologies Radar and Weapon Systems Quality Engineering efforts to support successful execution of defense industry programs. The sphere of influence of the QE encompasses the entire breadth of the purchased materials and services for the company.

This position supports the Advanced Systems & Technologies (AS&T;) division, which specializes in developing disruptive, next-generation technologies for advanced Unmanned Air Systems (UAS / UAV), advanced radar systems, next-generation weapon systems, and other RF sensor technologies using small company agility and big company experience.

Essential Functions:

* Leads, directs, and reviews the work of other Quality professionals.
* Plans and establishes goals and objectives for a team with direct impact on short-term operational results.
* Continually communicate and work with programs to improve performance, implement process control and quality plans
* Interact routinely with Purchasing, Engineering, Operations and Suppliers to pro-actively improve quality of components
* Develop, implement, and maintain Quality related processes, procedures, and performance metrics at the Company and Program level
* Perform Supplier Quality Systems audits and provide support for Supplier Quality Systems improvements
* Work with project work teams to define project deliverables, project planning, etc.
* Support Program Quality Engineers with Supplier related issues to solve problems, design issues, or to improve quality or performance
* Perform in house and Supplier Process and Procedure and Production Line Validation Audits
* Identify and develop quality improvement initiatives to reduce cost and schedule and increase performance of the products
* Perform supplier Process and Procedure and Production Line Validation Audits
* Identify and develop quality improvement initiatives to reduce cost and schedule and increase performance of the products
* Manage Quality Engineering staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, planning and training employees. Coach, counseling, monitor, and appraise staff performance.
* Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

* U.S. citizen
* Able to obtain and maintain DoD clearance and additional clearances as required
* Bachelor's Degree in a related field required. Degrees in STEM preferred
* Minimum 6 years Quality Assurance/Management in a high-tech manufacturing environment (commercial and/or military)
* Experience in technology demonstration, development and production programs
* Experience and ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings
* Experience in supplier development and management
* Good interpersonal and teaming skills
* Negotiation skills
* The ability to work independently and with little direction
* Should have an understanding of Design Failure Mode Effect Analysis (DFMEA) and Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA)
* ANSI Y14.5, IPC 610 and 620, and MIL Specs and Standards experience
* Production/Producibility experience
* Circuit board and fabricated item experience
* Orientated to customer satisfaction
* Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint and Project)

Preferred Additional Skills:

* Master's degree in related field with equivalent experience desired.
* Existing DoD clearance with current 5-year update
* Experience in defense/government program Quality Assurance and manufacturing
* Experience with SPC and 6-sigma techniques
* Experience with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
* Excellent people skills, with experience leading and collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment.
* Outstanding work ethic and commitment to organizational success
* Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation)
