Job Description

This role is responsible for manufacturing products according to standard formulas, applicable instructions, and current standard operating procedures. Incumbent is also responsible for the operation of the bulk receiving/shipping functions and has the ability to perform any of the tasks within the production department.

What You Will Do:

* Reviews daily mix schedules. Ensures that the correct PPE is available and other safety procedures are understood and followed.

* Ensures that the raw materials required for the mixes are available and that the EBS system is being used correctly to maintain inventory system.

* May use fork trucks, palletizers, scales, pumps, and other material moving and measuring equipment.

* Following the mix instructions, adds raw materials to the mixers manually when necessary, using pumps, or using mixing systems.

* Mixes the batches using variable agitation speeds, agitation times, and heating and cooling per the instructions.

* Simultaneously mix several tanks and accurately complete related documents.

* Takes samples of the completed mixed batches and performs basic QC tests or takes samples to lab for tests.

* Consults with Quality personnel on batch adjustments and notes batch adjustments on mix paperwork.

* Cleans out mix tanks when empty per procedures.

* Follows and achieves the mixing schedule per FST.

* Document all work accurately and timely as instructed, including material usage.

* Maintains equipment, work area and raw material storage areas in a clean and orderly manner.

* Cross-trained on bulk loading and unloading.

* Maintain 5S Standards in Mixing Area

* Complete Cleaning, inspection and lubrication standards as instructed

* Troubleshoot minor defects within mixing area

* Identify defects and work with supervisor and maintenance personnel to prioritize and resolve

* Maintain automatic batching software

* Reload raw materials into automatic feeders timely

* Help create and execute on batch strategies to optimize mixing process

* Complete batches within the targeted mix time

Position Details:

Location: McDonough, GA

Work week and shift:

* 1st Shift (Monday Friday; 6:00am 2:00pm)

* 2nd shift (Monday Friday; 2:00pm 10:00pm)

Compensation: $22.70 hourly ($0.40 shift differential on 2nd)

Minimum Qualifications:

* High School degree or equivalent

* Ability to read and follow detailed mixing instructions.

* Ability to be fork truck certified and to use other manual and automatic material moving equipment.

* Technical and mathematical ability to operate batch systems, pumps, read meters, understand basic QC data, and to track mixing and quality information (mix logs, batch adjustments, etc.).

* Ability to perform basic QC tests (take samples, perform pH tests)

* Strong attention to detail; must have ability to simultaneously mix several tanks and to accurately complete related documents.

* Ability to read and match numbers on shipping records, labels, raw materials, and finished goods.

Physical Demands:

* Ability to meet physical requirements of job.

* Must be able to lift/carry 50 pounds.

* Must be able to pass a drug screen and physical exam.

* Must be able to participate in respirator fitness if required.
