The Non Certified Nursing Assistant performs routine duties within the limits of training and certification in caring for the hospitalized patient. The care is rendered under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The newly hired NCNA is expected to participate in educational activities leading to achieving passing score on the Florida Certified Nursing Assistant exams within 6 months of hire; at that time the NCNA will be promoted to C NA. NAs that are active and in good standing in an accredited LPN or RN program are not required to take the FL certification exams.

Job Summary:

Population served:
Pediatric (1-12 years)
Adolescent (13-17 years)
Adult (18 years to 69 years)
Geriatric (70 years and older)

Supervised by: Director of Med Surg

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High school graduate, GED or 3 years relevant experience.

- Experience: Clinical experience in an acute care facility is not required. Non-nursing student NAs will be required to participate in training to become a Certified Nursing Assistant within 6 months of hire. in a certified nursing assistant program

Licenses/Certifications: Certification with the State of Florida; BLS certification required before beginning clinical work and may be provided by the facilitys Education Dept. FL Prometric C NA exam fees may be reimbursed per the facilitys Tuition Assistance policy. See Position Purpose above.
