What We do:
The XFINITY WI-FI Dev Engineering team is accountable for the evolution roadmap, end-to-end architecture, and the XFINITY Wi-Fi service layer. The team is responsible for driving ongoing architectural and performance improvements and the introduction of new features and capabilities for XFINITY Wi-Fi including the solution design, business case development, feature definition, proof-of-concept prototyping, and managing the development and delivery through internal development teams or external vendors. The team is also the conduit for all intake from external stakeholders such as the business unit and XFINITY Mobile.
Core Responsibilities
* Demonstrate best-in-class programming skills to develop secure, tested, optimized, and scalable code
* Collaborate with Ops/SE/QA/Client engineers and various other external and stakeholders teams to solve innovative problems utilizing out-of-the-box solutions.
* Lead applications and features development
* Work with end-users to gather requirements and translate them into code
* Provide technical solutions in new systems development, new package evaluations, and enhancements of existing systems
* Participate in the architecture, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of our systems
* Provides technical leadership throughout the design process and guidance with regards to practices, procedures, and techniques. Serves as a guide and mentor for junior-level Software Development Engineers.
* Communicate clearly and effectively using GitHub, Slack, Jira tickets, Wiki, Documents so as to keep all stakeholders in the loop regarding relevant issues.
* Interact thoughtfully and professionally with everyone including non-technical colleagues.
* Supports a culture of continuous improvement
* Responsible for engineering best practices leading to excellent overall quality of software
* Show a strong passion for learning and adapting to new technologies

Qualification Requirements:
Languages
4+ years experience working in any of the following
* C++, Java, C, Python, Go
APIs
* Demonstrated experience building and maintaining back-end systems and building and consuming APIs
Queues/Streams
* Working knowledge of application development using kinesis, Kafka, RabbitMQ
CI/CD
* Hands of use of build servers such as Jenkins, Travis CI, Concourse, TFS, etc.
Databases
4+ years experience working with either of the following:
* RDBMS (MS SQL, MySQL, Postgres, Oracle)
* NoSQL DBs (Cassandra, Couchbase, MongoDB, DynamoDB)
Additional Skills
* Testing
* Experience creating automated tests as part of the development lifecycle
* Linux working knowledge
* VCS
Education
* Bachelors degree strongly preferred
