Job Summary

The Connected Living Data Engineering and Analytics teams mission is to empower our Product & Engineering teams to make data-driven product decisions that drive customer value through improvements to the Connected Living Apps and customer experience. To accomplish this, AXP (Analytics and Experimentation Platform) Connected Living Data Engineering performs the data ingestion and transformation for various Apps to make them available within the Cloud Architecture. We make use of technologies like Spark, Hive, Presto, Scala, Python, various AWS Services in our ETL pipelines to expose the data to our analysts, product domain specialists and machine learning applications. 2021 and 2022 will be the year of data for us and we are looking for someone to help design, implement and improve on our Cloud Architecture, CI/CD model, and the A/B testing system for xFinity product lines. This is a hands-on job for a big data engineer. The job requires both serious technical chops and effective interpersonal skills. You will provide technical leadership in an environment that moves fast, collaborates between team members, and expects you to own your projects. Candidate will help to promote the use of industry and company technology standards while ensuring a balance between tactical and strategic technology solutions. Considers business problems end to end - including, process, and technology as part of any design solution. Mentors, reviews code and verifies that the best practices and the coding and architectural guidelines are adhered to. Identifies and drives issues through closure.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

* Ensures solutions are well engineered, operable, maintainable, and delivered on schedule. Develops, documents, and ensures compliance with best practices including but not limited to the following coding standards, object-oriented design, and platform.
* Utilize the various AWS Services (Kinesis, Lambda, S3, Athena, SQS, IAM etc), Spark, Scala, Python on Data Bricks for Data Engineering and Architecture.
* Design and Handle the API endpoints using GO programming language.
* Utilize Looker and Spark framework for data analysis and BI Analytical requirements.
* Develop data models and mappings
* Perform exploratory data analysis on existing products and datasets (both structured and unstructured)
* Build or implement solutions for metadata management.
* Implement the design and develop tools that automatically detect data anomalies, enable Data Analysts and engineers to easily build/run their own ETLs.
* He/ She will work closely with our Client Development Teams, Platform engineering team, and AI teams to lead all stages of the data pipeline.
* Monitors current and future trends, technology and information that will positively affect organizational projects; applies and integrates emerging technological trends to new and existing systems architecture.
* Contributes to the overall system implementation strategy for the enterprise and participates in appropriate forums, meetings, presentations etc. to meet goals.
* Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
