This position is part of our Advanced Safety & User Experience segment out of Troy, MI.
Summary:
This job description applies to all FS auditors and assessors who are member of the APTIV Global audit and assessment team. The auditor/assessor has the responsibility for the planning, execution and tracking of functional safety audits and assessments in accordance with the audit and assessment handbook and ISO26262:2018.
Responsibilities:
  * Ensure that the APTIV process for FS audits & assessments according the APTIV Audit and assessment handbook will be followed.
  * Perform functional safety audits & assessments in accordance with the APTIV Audit and assessment handbook and ISO26262:2018.
  * After an audit or assessment check the closure of the audit and assessment findings in the GCP (Gap closure plan) created by the functional safety manager.
  * Collaborate with other stakeholders to plan and support the APTIV AS&UX business needs.
  * The owner of this role will assist other teams under the global audit and assessment organization as needed, including continuous improvement initiatives and supporting Product Safety & Integrity (PS&I) initiatives.
  * Interface and engage with project teams within APTIV AS&UX.
  * Communicate audit & assessment status fortnightly to the supervisor.
  * Use reporting tools and processes for any escalation and keep data up to date on a weekly basis.
  * Write clear and concise description of findings in the final audit and assessment report so execution teams can make accurate changes.
  * Identify, plan and execute all training's which are related to the audit and assessment team activities.
  * Actively support the audit & assessment continuous improvement process.
  * Participate weekly global audit & assessment meetings.
  * Participate yearly global audit & assessment workshop.
  * Attend on congresses which are relevant for the audit & assessment team.
  * Attend the mandatory training's general to comply with APTIV values and training strategy.
  * Attend the mandatory training's AaA specific to comply with audit and assessment training strategy.
Must Haves (Basic Qualifications):
  * Bachelors degree in engineering discipline (electrical, systems, computer science, software, computer or related field of study)
  * 5+ years of functional safety experience
  * Knowledge and experience working with ISO 26262:2018 standard
  * This position requires an individual with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  * The auditor and assessor is expected to be well self-organized.
  * Strong background in SharePoint, MS-Office Tools.
Nice to Haves (Preferred Qualifications):
  * Masters degree in engineering discipline (electrical, systems, computer science, software, computer or related field of study)
  * 8+ years of functional safety experience
  * Experience working in an automotive technical environment.
  * Experience with systems, software, and electrical hardware.
  * Experience mentoring and training team members.
