Walker & Dunlop Investment Partners (WDIP), a subsidiary of Walker & Dunlop, Inc., is an established middle market commercial real estate investment firm comprised of 30 investment professionals who manage approximately $1.2 billion. Since origination in 2006, WDIP has deployed $1.8 billion across over 300 investments.

Investing on behalf of insurance companies, public pension funds, endowments, foundations, family offices and high net worth individuals, WDIP provides both debt and equity capital to sponsors across multiple U.S. markets and product types.

WDIP has two primary revenue platforms:

1) Fund Platform – Invests joint venture equity, preferred equity, mezzanine debt and high yield debt out of a series of discretionary private equity funds and separate accounts.

2) Debt Platform – Provides first trust bridge loans and permanent financing.

Supporting these revenue platforms, WDIP also has the following platforms:

• Asset Management – Responsible for driving investments toward underwritten realizations.
• Capital Formation, Investor Relations and Operations – Responsible for investment vehicle formation, capital raising, investor relations, business development and strategic initiatives.
• Accounting & Finance – Responsible for financial reporting and investment vehicle treasury management.

WDIP has experienced tremendous growth over the past few years and now has over $1.2 billion of assets under management with over $650 million in dry powder capacity to deploy across the debt and equity platforms. WDIP seeks to increase this AUM to $3.0 billion over the next three years.

This position will be an Analyst in the Fund Platform and part of a nine-person team focused on the origination, underwriting, due diligence and closing of real estate private equity investments.

What you will be doing:

Support WDIP Fund Platform in the underwriting, due diligence, and closing of transactions.
Detailed financial modeling for multiple product types using Excel and ARGUS
Market research
Sales and Lease comps
Property site visits
Communicate with sponsor/borrowers and brokers regarding transactions
Review of due diligence material and third-party reports
Other duties as assigned

The education and experience we're looking for:

Bachelors required.
1 + years financial modeling experience with Excel.   
1-2 years real estate experience preferred.
Prior experience in structuring real estate equity investments preferred.
Transaction closing experience including familiarity with legal documents and settlement statements preferred.
Ability to work flexible hours/overtime.
Ability to travel overnight up to 10%.

The skills you should have:

The company supports value-added thinking, creativity and problem solving.
Excellent Excel modeling skills are needed to demonstrate returns via IRR waterfalls, look backs, data tables, mapping and graphics (model example required).
Detailed oriented business and very credit disciplined. 
Comfortable analyzing real estate projects for financial feasibility as well as analyzing market driven factors.
Strong writing skills, with the ability to synthesize information from several sources into concise and coherent conclusions.
Good communication skills.
Strong motivation and a passion for real estate, with the ability to work without supervision.
