Position Description
This Sr. Human Resources Business Partner role supports the Grainger Technology Group (GTG) to translate the business strategy into an HR strategy and tactical plans. GTG is a key part of Graingers growth strategy. The group will grow and evolve to meet Graingers business needs and the Sr. HR Business Partner will be a key leader driving this change. This role will support the leaders and teams in: Software & Product Engineering, Information Security, Infrastructure & Operations.
* Partner with senior leaders within the GTG organization to develop people strategies and translate them into action plans to achieve desired outcomes
* Delivers organizational excellence by identifying business needs and developing solutions by partnering with various HR COE leaders/ teams in areas such as diversity/equity/inclusion, compensation and benefits, talent acquisition, performance/career management, team member/leader development
* Partners with the business to create a culture with Positive Employee Relations by leveraging a variety of tools to get a feel for the team members perceptions on the company, managers, and culture of the workplace.
* Educates and coaches managers and team members on the application of the overall Talent Management Processes including performance management, succession planning and development planning
* Facilitates the development of organizational structure and job design work. Continuously reviews the organizational structure to ensure it is meeting the dynamic needs of the business. Assist compensation in job analysis and provide support to the job evaluation process.
* Creates workforce plans to meet shifts in business volumes. Partners with management to determine team member needs and then create strategies with talent acquisition (TA) to meet those needs.
* Consults and drives continuous improvement thinking and actions across the business to improve results
Position Requirements:
* BA/BS or equivalent preferred
* Experience supporting high tech organizations strongly preferred
* 5-7 years of experience of progressively increasing HR responsibility; experience in both HR COEs and as an HRBP preferred
* Experience driving wholesale organizational transformation preferred.
* Skilled in Excel, PowerPoint and data aggregation and translation
* Strong analytical ability and business judgment
* High level of interpersonal skills where the individual can diffuse high-tension situations. Strong influencing and facilitation skills, which surface differing viewpoints and result in the best course of actions. Understands organization dynamics and can navigate appropriate channels to get results.
* Effectively prioritizes and manages projects.
* Effective verbal and written communication with individuals at all levels.
* Ability to lead people at all levels through significant changes in ambiguous situations.
