Description:
This individual will be the Lead Hardware Engineer (LHE) for hydrophone maintenance activities across the Towed Array product lines. Being mainly mechanically intensive in terms of the majority of development activities, it is preferred that this individual have a mechanical engineering degree with previous design experience. In this dynamic role, this person would be responsible for the program work assignments, cost, schedule, requirements harmonization, managing risk and opportunities and ensuring technical performance on this towed array product line, which would cover hydrophone maintenance tasking, spanning across TB-29C, TB-34A, and TB-37/U Towed Array programs. This role also requires the successful individual to prepare, and support cost proposals and Earned Value (EV) status to Program and Technical Operation leadership.
Basic Qualifications:
This individual should have demonstrated successful leadership of diverse technical teams and should have relevant experience in interfacing with Program Management, Manufacturing, QA and Systems Engineering to resolve issues that arise during planning and execution phases of a project.
This individual must be a pro-active problem solver and must be able to identify the most efficient path towards any issue requiring resolution in the support of a fast-paced production environment; along with evidence in demonstrating team building skills.
Desired Skills:
This individual will be asked to participate in all phases of the project, including project planning, cost, and development and supporting on-going production activities.
This individual should be responsible, pro-active and self-motivated leading a small Hardware Engineering team and will require daily interface with Program, Manufacturing, and Engineering Program Management.
Ability to generate Basis of Estimates in the GenBOE program along with familiarity with EPDM. Additionally, previous experience in the use of MS Project for schedule development and tracking is desired.
